An oversimplified love letter to sleep

Stay in bed longer than you should.

I wish I were a dog in a nice neighbourhood —

Running behind a few cars,

Barking at a few frightened strangers.

Scratching my back on the ground.

Eating what tasty food came my way.

But most importantly,

Sleeping in the sunshine, in the moonlight, at will; unfettered by judgments of right time and place.

No coffees and cold showers to keep me awake because why should I strive to be awake when all I really want to do is sleep.

Superiors seem a bit cheesed off with my sleeping at will idea, but I blame them, sleep is involuntary. They should know, they have a master’s degree in something, apparently.

The only constant in our lives is sleep and I am convinced that we weren’t born to achieve and plunder the earth but to sleep and dream, causing littlest harm to ourselves and others.

Maybe I don’t have to be a dog for this. Just rich and dumb.

I like to eat, read, talk about what I’ve read and visit small cities. Overall pretty basic and easily confused.
